Three things to know about me as a photographer:  1) I was supposed to be a screenwriter, but it didn’t take; 2) I took two photography courses in college and barely passed them (and you can read about such nonsense here); 3) My photography career began on April Fool’s Day, 1999, and I blew my first newspaper assignment because I didn’t load the film right. They instead had to use a shot taken by an eight-year-old boy.
